Post Description
| Pay Scale | Level 11 (Rs.67,700-2,08,700) in the Pay matrix of 7th CPC. Total emoluments (excluding HRA & TA) at the time of initial appointment will be RS.67,700/- plus DA as applicable per month approximately. |
| Age | Not exceeding 40 years for General category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 years for EWS candidates, not exceeding 45 years for Scheduled Casts and Scheduled Tribes candidates and not exceeding 43 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servant up to Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. | Essential Qualificaiton (s) |
(A) Educational - Degree in Law from a recognized University
OR
Master Degree in Law of a recognized University.
(B) Experience-
For LLB Degree Holders - Five years practice at a Bar or five years’ experience in the State Judicial Service or in the Legal Department of a State Government or of the Central Government or in the processing of applications for registration filed under the Trade Marks Act or Geographical Indications Act or in teaching law in a recognized University.
OR
For LLM Degree Holders - Three years’ experience in teaching law or in conducting research in law in a recognized University or research Institution.

| Desirable Qualificaiton (s) |
Ph.D in Intellectual Property from a Recognized university.
Note 1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to record in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Note 2 The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, if, at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.
